Oxblood Red & Color Blocking with Kantha in a Desi Avatar...

My obsession with Oxblood Red is now quite the talk of the town and when I mixed it with Electric Blue to get a color blocked effect, my Kantha kurta looked prettier than ever before :)

I had a while ago got myself this silver Kantha embroidered silk material for getting a kurta stitched. Not able to decide what to team it with, I left it unstitched for more than a year before inspiration struck... So, while I was cleaning out my cupboard that is filled with only such unstitched materials and fabrics, I realised that Oxblood Red would be a way to make this Kantha kurta look all the more beautiful :)

Now Oxblood has an issue... It looks rich and gorgeous in only specific materials... The magic of Oxblood lies quite majorly on the sheen of the fabric and hence it looks royal in leather and silk... Thus it was a no-brainer that I would be getting a salwar stitched in Oxblood silk... The story doesn't end... It actually gets better... While on the lookout for an oxblood red silk fabric, I stumbled upon an Oxblood silk Jacquard fabric! Yay!

Coming to the dupatta that I wanted to take with the suit, I did not want a salwar-dupatta matching look and so I started thinking about ways to color-block the outfit and voila! settled with an Electric Blue Organza dupatta with a zari border to add some festivity...

Here is the complete look :)
